The small building right next to Wilhelmshöhe Palace may seem unremarkable from the outside, but it has a lot to offer: In the ballroom, event guests can still admire the extravagant interior decoration from the time of the Electors. Particularly impressive is the ballroom with its valuable ceiling and wall paintings.
A colorful figure had the building constructed over 200 years ago as her personal court theater: Jérôme Bonaparte, the youngest brother of Napoleon, briefly ruled Hesse-Kassel from 1807 as a French occupier. He was known among the citizens of Kassel as "King Fun," who celebrated every evening. However, the magnificent interior of the building was only completed a few years later under Elector Wilhelm II, who primarily used it as a ballroom.
Today, events take place regularly at the ballroom. Concert series and readings instead.
