Beyond Dowland

Two musicians, Johannes Euler and Till Spohr, who have met on their way between early Baroque lute songs, extravagant pop, and impressionistic jazz, with a common passion: the music of John Dowland. Supplemented by lutenist Ulrich Wedemeier, a concert program is created that juxtaposes Dowland's lute songs with Johannes Euler's own sophisticated-popular musical compositions based on the original song texts. The album "Beyond Dowland" was released in March 2023 on the Peppermint Park / Tessmar label and forms the cornerstone of the ensemble's repertoire, which will be expanded in the coming years with similar programs.
