The Textile and Fashion Collection includes the textile holdings from the castles and museums of Hessen Kassel Heritage. Magnificent wall textiles, such as the extraordinary pearl wallpaper embroidered with 600,000 pearls and the tapestry from the Amsterdam studio of Alexander Baert, can be admired in the Löwenburg. Luxurious silk coverings can be viewed in a guided tour at Schloss Wilhelmthal in Calden. In addition to costumes, the collection also includes fashion from the 17th to the 20th century and, of course, Hessian traditional costumes. A representative cross-section of these costumes has been on display at the Hessian State Museum since its reopening.
